Insiders have confirmed that Daniel Gozar’s contract with DStv Premiership side Swallows FC has been terminated. The Ghanaian striker, who has been with the Birds for almost three years, has not featured in any matches in the club’s stuttering league campaign.
Sources have revealed that a decision has been reached for the parties to go their separate ways, although there could be more to the story than meets the eye.
“Daniel Gozar has parted ways with Swallows,” confirmed the source. “It’s not a mutual termination, but because of the reasons beyond the player’s control, his representatives had to take action and the club has been informed of the decision hence the parting of ways,” they added.
Swallows’ media officer Sbonelo Mathenjwa has not yet responded to enquiries made by the Siya crew, in offering the right of reply to the PSL outfit.
Gozar previously spent some time with Black Leopards while on loan from Swallows. He has been in South Africa since 2019, having first arrived for Free State Stars from Ghanaian club Ashanti Gold.
