Ramovic Breaks Silence on Chiefs Links Amid Pressure on Co-Coaches

CR Belouizdad head coach Sead Ramovic has addressed the ongoing
speculation linking him with the vacant coaching position at Kaizer Chiefs,
as the Siya crew understands he features prominently on the club’s shortlist
with current co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef under increasing
pressure.

As reported in issue no. 1465 of the PSLSA newspaper, currently on sale,
Ramovic—along with MC Alger head coach Rulani Mokwena—is admired by the
Chiefs hierarchy, particularly by Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr.
Motaung Jr will be leading the search for a new coach, having made it clear
in a recent interview on Kaizer Chiefs Radio that there would be
consequences for the current coaching staff if results do not improve.

Chiefs were previously linked with Ramovic during his tenure at TS Galaxy,
where Chairman Tim Sukazi stated in interviews that he would be willing to
negotiate a release from his contract should Amakhosi make an official
approach.

The German-born Bosnian coach, in response to PSLSA, acknowledged his
current commitment to Belouizdad while expressing respect for the coaches
still at the helm at Chiefs.

“I have a lot of respect for my colleagues, and for that reason it would be
very disrespectful for me to comment on speculation about a club that
already has a coach,” Ramovic told the Siya crew. “They are people I respect
deeply, not only as coaches but also as great human beings.”

He continued, “What I can say is that Kaizer Chiefs is one of the biggest
and most historic clubs in African football, with incredible supporters, a
strong football culture, and a long tradition of developing talented
players. It is a club that has a special place in South African football. Of
course, when a coach’s name is mentioned in connection with a club of that
stature, it is always an honour and recognition of the work being done by
the players and staff around me.”

However, the former TS Galaxy coach was quick to reaffirm his commitment to
his current post. “But my responsibility today is with my team and my
players at CR Belouizdad. At the moment, our full focus is on the semi-final
of the Algerian Cup and the quarter-final of the CAF competition (against Al
Masry). Last season we also reached the (Algerian Cup) final, but
unfortunately we lost it (against USM Alger). Our objective now is to work
hard, reach the final again, and this time try to win the trophy,” Ramovic
added.
