The Premier Soccer League has announced the first batch of Betway
Premiership Monthly Award winners for the second half of the season,
recognising the standout performers from January and February. Miguel
Cardoso, Relebohile Mofokeng, and Glody Lilepo have each received accolades
following their impressive contributions during the review period.
The winners were selected by an independent panel comprising PSL-accredited
journalists and broadcasters.
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso was named Coach of the Month
after steering his side to a perfect record of four wins from four matches.
Highlights of that run included a crucial away victory over title rivals
Orlando Pirates, further cementing Sundowns’ dominance over the two-month
stretch. Cardoso saw off competition from Pirates’ Abdeslam Ouaddou and
Stellenbosch FC’s Gavin Hunt, the latter having brought renewed stability to
the Cape Winelands side since his arrival.
In the Player of the Month category, Orlando Pirates forward Relebohile
Mofokeng claimed top honours. The young attacker delivered three goals and
three assists across six league outings, while also earning three
consecutive Man of the Match awards—underlining his growing influence and
cemented status in the Buccaneers’ starting lineup.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs forward Glody Lilepo was recognised with the Goal
of the Month award for his long-range strike against Marumo Gallants at the
Dr Molemela Stadium in January, which was voted the finest finish of the
period.
