Chiefs Target Crucial Confed Cup Double Over ZESCO United

The Soweto giants secured their first-ever group stage win last weekend
after defeating ZESCO 1-0 thanks to Pule Mmodi’s first-half goal.

Chiefs will enter the clash third in Group D, level on points with
second-place Zamalek, who face Al-Masry on Sunday night.

The Amakhosi will be playing their fourth match of the year already and
they were in action on Wednesday after defeating Marumo Gallants 1-0 in
Bloemfontein.

The Zambians, however, can take encouragement from the fact that they
defeated Chiefs 2-1 in South Africa during the 2018/19 Confederation Cup
campaign, securing a 5-2 aggregate win in the process.Kaizer Chiefs will
look to secure a vital double over ZESCO United when the two sides meet
again in a CAF Confederation Cup Group D clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium on
Sunday afternoon.

Fresh from their first-ever group stage victory—a 1-0 away win against the
same opponents last weekend courtesy of Pule Mmodi’s strike—the Amakhosi
return to home soil aiming to solidify their knockout stage ambitions. The
result propelled Chiefs to third in Group D, level on points with
second-placed Zamalek.

This match marks an intense fourth game of the year for the Soweto giants,
who come into it on the back of a 1-0 domestic win over Marumo Gallants on
Wednesday. ZESCO United, meanwhile, will draw confidence from a positive
