Orlando Pirates return to Betway Premiership action on Saturday
afternoon with a crucial away fixture against Sekhukhune United at the New
Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The Buccaneers, who ended 2025 at the summit of the table, now find
themselves in second place after Mamelodi Sundowns’ victory on Monday. This
match presents an opportunity to apply pressure at the top.
The Soweto giants have reinforced their squad during the transfer window,
adding Andre de Jong, Daniel Msendami, and Mpho Chabatsane to their ranks.
Their hosts, Sekhukhune United, will be playing their second match of the
new year, following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch FC on Tuesday.
Currently in fourth place, a victory would see Eric Tinkler’s side draw
level on points with Pirates. Sekhukhune will draw confidence from their 1-0
win over the Buccaneers on the opening weekend of the season.
The confirmed lineups are:
Sekhukhune United Starting XI: Leaner, Ndlovu, Cardoso, Letlapa, Mogaila,
