Ex-Bafana Stars Back Pitso Mosimane for National Team Return

Former Bafana Bafana players Teko Modise, Brighton Mhlongo, and Linda
Mntambo have publicly endorsed Pitso Mosimane to take over as head coach
once Hugo Broos departs after the FIFA World Cup in June.

Broos, who has led South Africa since 2021, confirmed he will step down
following the global tournament, sparking widespread discussion about his
successor. On the Car Wash 2.0 podcast, the trio of ex-internationals
voiced strong support for Mosimane—affectionately known as “Jingles”—to
return to the role he held from 2010 to 2012.

They pointed to his vast experience, tactical knowledge, and track record
of success both in South Africa and across the continent as key reasons
why he is the ideal candidate to guide Bafana Bafana into a new era.

Mosimane, currently without a club after leaving his last coaching
position, remains one of the most accomplished and respected figures in
African football.
