Pirates Loan Young Striker Sifiso Luthuli to Magesi FC

Orlando Pirates have agreed to loan promising young striker Sifiso
Luthuli to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Magesi FC for the remainder
of the season, according to sources.

The move is designed to provide the 20-year-old with crucial first-team
experience, as he has yet to make a league appearance for the Buccaneers
amid stiff competition in the attacking department.

Luthuli’s departure follows the recent loan exits of several other fringe
players from the Soweto giants. For Magesi, the acquisition is timely, as
the Limpopo club is poised to lose striker Kgomotso Mosadi to Stellenbosch
FC and requires a direct replacement.

A product of the Pirates academy, which he joined at 17, Luthuli has
progressed through the club’s DStv Diski Challenge and Pele Pele reserve
teams. He was promoted to the first-team squad ahead of the current campaign
and showcased his potential by scoring the opening goal in Pirates’ 2-0
Carling Black Label Cup victory over the Carling All Stars in December.

The loan spells a significant opportunity for Luthuli to prove himself in a
competitive senior environment before aiming to return and challenge for a
place at Pirates next season.
