PSL Clubs Queue for Cape Town City’s Versatile Nyama

The January transfer window has sparked significant interest in Cape Town
City’s Tshegofatso Nyama, with several Betway Premiership clubs reportedly
lining up for the versatile defender’s signature.

Nyama, who has made over 111 top-flight appearances in his career, has
been a consistent performer this season. His strong displays in the
Motsepe Foundation Championship have caught the attention of multiple PSL
sides, reigniting speculation about a potential move.

A source close to the situation hinted at growing interest, telling PSLSA,
“It appears that PSL clubs are queuing up for the signature of Tshegofatso
Nyama. A left-wing back and attacking midfielder with much experience.
Watch this space. [I] don’t want to say more.”

When contacted for comment, Cape Town City Chairman John Comitis did not
confirm or deny the enquiries but emphasised Nyama’s value to the club.
“Tshego is extremely versatile and still much in our plans,” Comitis
stated briefly.

The 26-year-old, who hails from Tembisa, developed his skills at Farouk
Khan’s famed Stars of Africa Academy before being recruited to TS Galaxy
by then-coach Dan Malesela. Reflecting on his development in a 2019
interview with The Sowetan, Nyama said, “I spent five good years at the
Stars of Africa learning the basics of the game.”

His career highlight came in 2019 when he helped TS Galaxy secure a
historic Nedbank Cup victory.

With his versatility, experience, and current form making him an
attractive prospect, Nyama’s future will be one to watch as the transfer
window progresses.
