Highlanders FC’s valuation of promising midfielder Prince Ndlovu has been
revealed, with the Zimbabwean club expected to demand around $40,000
(approximately R659,696) for his transfer, amid reported interest from
Orlando Pirates and European scouts.
Despite Highlanders CEO Denzel Mnkandla stating in December that no
official approach had been made, interest in the 19-year-old remains
strong. An insider told PSLSA that the asking price is benchmarked against
recent deals in Zimbabwe’s market.
“Considering his age and potential ceiling, I would say USD40k… Remember
Mafious Chihweta, a player of a similar profile and age, went to Scotland
for USD50k. So USD40k is a starting point, nothing less,” the source
explained.
The source added that the fee could rise once the Zimbabwean Premiership
season begins, noting that “form may dictate how much it goes up.”
Ndlovu is familiar with Orlando Pirates, having trained with the club in
2023, and the Soweto giants are believed to have kept a close eye on his
development since.
As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on whether any club meets
Highlanders’ valuation to secure the services of the talented midfielder.
