Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebogang Maboe has stated he will patiently
wait for his opportunity to secure a regular spot in the team.
Despite joining the Soweto giants on a free transfer, Maboe has been limited
to just two appearances so far this season. Speaking ahead of Amakhosi’s CAF
Confederation Cup match against Zamalek FC, the midfielder confirmed he has
settled in well at Naturena and is maintaining a positive outlook.
“I have settled in very well,” Maboe told journalists. “I know my chance
will come. The players that were playing, who are my teammates, were doing
very well and I know myself. I trust my abilities and it is just a matter of
time. I know that my chance will definitely come.”
Maboe emphasized his commitment to the team, adding, “For me, right now, it
is to support the players that are playing and clap for others while I’m
still waiting for my chance as well.”
He is one of several new arrivals at Chiefs this season, a list that
includes Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, and Etiosa Ighodaro. While Maboe has
made his debut, other signings such as Ethan Chislett and Nkanyiso Shinga
are still awaiting their first official minutes for the club.
