Kaizer Chiefs’ inaugural CAF Confederation Cup group stage campaign is
taking shape, with the club preparing for a challenging double-header
against Egyptian opposition this month.
According to sources close to the fixtures, Amakhosi are scheduled to host
African giants Zamalek FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on
November 30. This crucial home match will kick off at 15:00 and represents
the team’s second Group Stage outing, coming just a week after they open
their continental campaign away to Al Masry in Egypt.
This back-to-back challenge against two of Egypt’s most formidable clubs
presents a stern early test for Chiefs as they navigate their historic debut
in the group stages of the competition.
The selection of the Peter Mokaba Stadium sets the scene for a significant
milestone in the club’s history. Chiefs earned their place in the group
stages after a hard-fought 3-1 aggregate victory over DR Congo’s AS Simba.
Drawn into a highly competitive Group C, which also includes Zambian side
Zesco United, these consecutive fixtures against Zamalek and Al Masry will
be a critical measure of Chiefs’ ability to compete among Africa’s elite.
