In-Form Kaizer Chiefs Striker Flavio Da Silva Earns International Call-Up

Kaizer Chiefs striker Flavio Da Silva’s impressive form has been rewarded
with a call-up to the Guinea-Bissau national team for the upcoming FIFA
international window.

The forward, who found the net in Amakhosi’s 4-1 victory over Orbit
College on Tuesday, is set to join his national team for a friendly
against Angola. This selection serves as a significant endorsement of both
the player and the club’s recruitment strategy.

Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze expressed his delight at the news, linking it
directly to the player’s restored confidence. “He has been called up. It’s
very good for him and the team,” Kaze stated. “He’s a player who is getting
back his confidence, he’s in a good moment, and that can help him. When you
get a foreigner that’s called up, you know you have done your homework in
terms of recruitment.”

Kaze also confirmed that Mduduzi Shabalala has been included in the
preliminary Bafana Bafana squad, highlighting a positive period for the club
on the international front.

Tough CAF Confederation Cup Draw Awaits

Shifting focus to continental duties, Coach Kaze acknowledged the challenge
of their CAF Confederation Cup group stage draw, where they will face
Egyptian giants Zamalek, fellow Egyptian side Al Masry, and Zambian
powerhouses Zesco United.

“It’s not an easy draw with two very good Egyptian teams and Zesco. We know
what is at stake,” Kaze observed. He emphasized the critical nature of their
opening match, an away fixture against Al Masry. “The first game is very
important… Every point is going to count. We need to be on our front foot
from the first game.”
