Galaxy’s Seluleko Mahlambi Forges His Own Path, Guided by Brother’s Lessons

TS Galaxy’s rising star, Seluleko Mahlambi, is on a mission to carve out
his own successful legacy in South African football, using the cautionary
tale of his older brother, Phakamani, as both a warning and a guide.

The 21-year-old forward has taken the Betway Premiership by storm,
delivering an explosive start to the season with five goals and two assists
in his first 11 matches. His electrifying pace and skill have inevitably
drawn comparisons to his brother, who similarly burst onto the scene at
Bidvest Wits before high-profile moves to Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, while Phakamani’s talent was undeniable, his career was derailed by
off-field issues and a lack of discipline, leaving him out of professional
football at 27.

Speaking ahead of Galaxy’s Carling Knockout clash with Golden Arrows,
Seluleko acknowledged that his brother’s journey heavily influences his own.
He is determined to learn from those mistakes, ensuring his own story has a
different and more sustained trajectory at the highest level.
