Kaizer Chiefs have moved quickly to solidify their technical team,
appointing assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze as the
interim leaders for the remainder of the 2025/26 season. This announcement
follows shortly after the club confirmed its mutual separation with head
coach Nasreddine Nabi.
In an official statement released to bring clarity after a period of
uncertainty, the club emphasized that the duo’s leadership will “ensure
continuity and stability” for the upcoming domestic and continental
fixtures. The club also expressed its commitment to its ambitions and
thanked the Amakhosi supporters for their “continued loyalty, patience and
support.”
Ben Youssef and Kaze have already been managing the team on an interim
basis, most recently overseeing the Carling Knockout clash against
Stellenbosch FC, which ended in a narrow 5-4 penalty shootout defeat.
This decision is seen as a strategic move to provide stability and maintain
a consistent environment for the players during a critical phase of the
season. With Chiefs competing on multiple fronts, the appointment aims to
steady the ship and allow the club to rebuild its rhythm and identity on the
pitch.
All eyes will now be on the new technical setup as Chiefs look to reignite
their campaign after the FIFA international break, with fans hoping this
consolidation will spark a strong resurgence.
