Orlando Pirates return to Betway Premiership duty on Tuesday evening when
they take on struggling Siwelele FC in Bloemfontein.
The Buccaneers head into the clash fresh from CAF Champions League
success, having eased past Lioli FC 3-0 in the first leg of their
Preliminary Round tie on Saturday. Domestically, Abdeslam Ouaddou’s men
resumed league action before the international break with an emphatic 3-0
victory over Chippa United.
Despite sitting eighth on the log, Pirates have played only five matches
so far this campaign, leaving them well-placed to climb the table with
positive results in hand.
Siwelele, on the other hand, find themselves in early-season trouble.
Their defeat to Magesi FC at the weekend stretched their winless run to
six matches. The poor start has already prompted changes behind the
scenes, with CEO Stan Matthews and assistant coach Andre Arendse parting
ways with the club.
