An update has emerged regarding Peter Shalulile’s absence from the
Namibia national football team camp, with the Siya crew learning the reasons
why the striker is missing the current international window.
The Brave Warriors are currently in Kazakhstan competing in the 2026 FIFA
Series international friendlies. However, Shalulile is among the
high-profile players not included in the travelling squad, with Orlando
Pirates’ Deon Hotto also notably absent.
According to a source close to the situation, the decision to leave
Shalulile out was purely precautionary. “Peter requested to be left out-he’s
still recovering,” the source revealed.
In Shalulile’s absence, AmaZulu FC’s Riaan Hanamub was handed the captain’s
armband for Namibia’s opening fixture. The Brave Warriors got their campaign
off to a difficult start, suffering a 2-0 defeat to hosts Kazakhstan in
Astana on Wednesday.
Namibia will now look to regroup as they continue their international
assignments, while Shalulile focuses on regaining full fitness ahead of
returning to both club and country duties.
