Durban City FC has confirmed that the appointment of a new head coach is
imminent, with an announcement expected this coming weekend.
The club has been linked with several high-profile managers in recent
reports, including Roman Folz, Zdravko Logarušić, Heiko Herrlich, and
Edward Iordănescu.
In an exclusive interview with PSLSA, club chairman Farook Kadodia stated
that a shortlist has been finalized and the decision is being concluded.
The chosen candidate will begin their duties early next week.
“We will make an announcement later, probably by the weekend, before the
players return,” Kadodia revealed.
He added that the squad is due back for training on Monday, 29 December,
and confirmed that the club has narrowed down its choices, though the
names on the shortlist remain confidential.
“We are returning to training on Monday next week. I have a shortlist for
the coaches, but I can’t share the names at this point,” Kadodia told the
publication.
Durban City, recently promoted back to the Premier League, currently sit
seventh in the standings with 22 points from 15 matches. Their record of
six wins, four draws, and five defeats preceded the decision to part ways
with former head coach Gavin Hunt.
