Veteran Administrator Peter Koutroulis Set to Join Marumo Gallants in Restructuring Push

Marumo Gallants’ off-field overhaul is expected to continue, with
indications that experienced administrator Peter Koutroulis is on his way to
the Betway Premiership side.

Sources have revealed that Koutroulis, currently with Motsepa Foundation
Championship outfit Casric Stars, has been earmarked for a move to Gallants
as the club seeks to strengthen its administrative and technical structures
during a challenging campaign.

The seasoned administrator has built a strong reputation in South African
football, particularly in the second tier. He previously spent a season with
Magesi FC, where he played a pivotal role in their promotion-winning
campaign to the top flight. His contribution during that successful run did
not go unnoticed, and he has since remained a highly sought-after figure
behind the scenes.

At Casric Stars, Koutroulis has again been involved in an ambitious project,
with the club currently in the promotion race. They sit fifth in the
standings with 35 points, just five behind leaders Kruger United, and have
also enjoyed a historic Nedbank Cup run, reaching the semi-finals where they
are set to face Durban City FC.

His expected arrival comes as Gallants continue to make changes in a bid to
stabilise the club. A source has added further weight to Koutroulis’
imminent move, revealing that his integration may already be underway.

“He’s already with the team in Pretoria. He travelled with them and has been
seen at the hotel as part of the group preparing for the Mamelodi Sundowns
game. The understanding is that he’s coming in as Football Manager, so
things are moving quickly behind the scenes,” the source told the Siya crew.

The club recently confirmed the arrival of Jamil Benouahi, who has taken up
an advisory role as part of a broader technical structure, while Alexandre
Lafitte remains head coach despite his current suspension.

Gallants have struggled for consistency in the league this season and are
currently positioned near the bottom of the table, facing a battle to retain
their Premiership status in the final stretch of the campaign.

Koutroulis’ anticipated arrival is understood to be part of the club’s wider
efforts to reinforce its structure and improve stability both on and off the
pitch as they look to navigate a difficult period.

Gallants travel to Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane this evening for their
22nd match of the campaign against defending champions Sundowns.
