Sundowns Aim to Keep Pace with Pirates as They Host Mngqithi’s Arrows

Mamelodi Sundowns will be aiming to keep pace with Orlando Pirates at
the summit of the Betway Premiership when they take on Golden Arrows at
Loftus Versfeld Stadium this evening.

  • Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v Golden Arrows
  • Date: 04 March 2026
  • Venue: Loftus Versfeld Stadium

Sundowns were made to work hard for their 3-0 win over Sekhukhune United in
their previous outing, with Iqraam Rayners coming off the bench to net a
late brace.

The victory saw Sundowns remain in second spot on the Premiership table, but
they are level on points with Orlando Pirates, who face Polokwane City this
evening.

Tonight’s encounter carries added intrigue as Sundowns will come up against
a familiar face in the opposition dugout, with former co-coach Manqoba
Mngqithi now leading Arrows.

However, Mngqithi’s charges are looking for a return to winning ways after
being held to a goalless draw by Chippa United last weekend. The Arrows
mentor will be hoping his side can complete a rare double over their
high-flying opponents, having claimed a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture
earlier this season.
