Orlando Pirates Confirm Early Departure of Defender Olisa Ndah

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of Nigerian defender Olisa
Ndah, with the mutual termination of his contract finalized on the January
transfer window’s closing day.

As previously reported, Ndah’s contract was set to expire at the season’s
end. However, the club has revealed that the player requested an early
release to facilitate a move before the window closed.

In an official statement, the Soweto giants said: “Orlando Pirates Football
Club can confirm that the Club has reached a mutual agreement with defender
Olisa Ndah to part ways. The Nigerian international requested an early
release from his contract, a decision that follows careful and respectful
discussions between the player and the Club’s management. Central to these
conversations was a shared understanding to afford Ndah the opportunity to
secure regular game time elsewhere as he enters the next phase of his
career.”

Ndah arrived at Pirates in 2021 but saw his progress consistently disrupted
by injuries. Despite showing strong form when available, recurring fitness
issues repeatedly sidelined the defender, limiting his impact.

The early release grants Ndah, who has attracted interest from
clubs abroad in the past, the clearance needed to immediately seek a new
team and reignite his career.
