Kaizer Chiefs Loan Out Young Duo to Gomora United for Season

Kaizer Chiefs have continued their strategy of loaning out young talent
for development, with defender Siyabonga Gumede and South African U-20
international Sifiso Timba joining Motsepe Foundation Championship side
Gomora United for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old Gumede, who can play in defence or midfield, and 19-year-old
right-back Timba—previously on trial at Belgian club RWD Molenbeek—are both
viewed as promising prospects for the future. They will bolster a Gomora
United side currently 13th in the standings and fighting to avoid
relegation.

A Gomora club official confirmed the arrivals ahead of their match against
Cape Town City, stating, “I’m told they will start with us sometime next
week. Yes, they are coming.”

The moves are part of a broader loan initiative by Chiefs, who have sent
several players from their DStv Diski Challenge squad to clubs in South
Africa’s second division and abroad. Recent loans include midfielders
Manqoba Ozoemena and Ofentse Kgosana to Casric Stars, defender Nkosana
Mbuthu to Leicesterford City, and centre-back Bobo Sima to Mochudi Centre
Chiefs in Botswana—where he joins fellow loanee Xolani Cossa at Black Lions.

Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane are also currently gaining experience on
loan at Siwelele FC.
