Radiopane’s Final Chance: Orlando Pirates Striker to Fight for His Future

Orlando Pirates striker Boitumelo Radiopane faces a decisive period in
his career at the club, with his future beyond this season hanging on his
ability to secure playing time and start scoring goals.

Despite earlier speculation linking him with a January exit, Radiopane will
remain with the Buccaneers until at least the end of the campaign. His
agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed that a proposed loan move—aimed at giving the
23-year-old more minutes—has been shelved. Instead, the striker will stay
and compete for a place in the team.

“All is good with him. Let’s hope he can build on what he did in the Carling
[Cup]. Hopefully he is over his injuries. I think the next four or five
months are going to be very important for the young man. He will not be
leaving at this point,” Makaab told PSLSA.

Radiopane’s season has been disrupted by injury, limiting him to just four
appearances so far, in which he has registered one assist but is yet to
score. With time running out to prove himself, the pressure is mounting for
the young forward to deliver.

In a contrasting move for Pirates’ striking department, youngster Sifiso
Luthuli is set to join Magesi FC on loan. The 21-year-old, promoted to the
first team at the start of the season, is yet to make an appearance and will
seek valuable top-flight experience away from the club.

For Radiopane, the message is clear: the coming months represent his final
audition to secure a long-term future at Orlando Pirates.
