Contract Crossroads: Olisa Ndah’s Future at Orlando Pirates Awaits Decision

A critical period lies ahead for Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah,
whose current contract expires at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old Nigerian centre-back, who joined the Soweto giants in 2021,
is now eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club. However,
it is understood that formal talks over a potential new deal with Pirates
are set to begin before the end of this month.

While no official offer has yet been tabled, sources indicate there is a
strong possibility Ndah will remain a Buccaneer next season. The player’s
first preference is understood to be renewing with Pirates, with external
options only to be considered if an agreement cannot be reached.

Ndah has recently returned to full training after battling injuries,
awaiting his opportunity to return to competitive action. His path to more
game time in the second half of the campaign appears clearer following
Mbekezeli Mbokazi’s departure to MLS side Chicago Fire. Head coach Abdeslam
Ouaddou had preferred a partnership of Lebone Seema and Mbokazi earlier in
the season, creating an opening for a new defensive combination.

Competition for a starting berth remains intense. Pirates have reinforced
their defensive ranks with the recent signing of Mpho Chabatsane from Marumo
Gallants, while Thabiso Sesane and captain Nkosinathi Sibisi also provide
strong options at centre-back.

Ndah will be aiming to secure significant minutes in the coming months, not
only to aid Pirates in their pursuit of a first league title since 2012 but
also to strengthen his case for a contract renewal at the club.
