There is growing hope that former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly striker
Phakamani Mahlambi could revive his professional career, with a permanent
move to TS Galaxy still a possibility before the January transfer window
closes.
The 28-year-old, who has been without a club for almost three years, has
been training with the Mpumalanga side since November in a bid to secure a
contract.
A source close to the situation confirmed his continued presence at the
club, telling PSLSA: “He is still there. There is hope for him at TS Galaxy
as he continues his training with the team. There is nothing much we can say
right now but there is hope.”
Mahlambi’s search for a return to football has seen him train elsewhere,
including a stint with Durban City under former coach Gavin Hunt, but no
deal materialised.
As the window enters its final stages, the once-promising forward will be
hoping his extended trial has impressed the TS Galaxy technical staff enough
to earn a contract and reignite a stalled career.
