AmaZulu have officially appointed former professional midfielder Kurt
Lentjies as the new head coach of their DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team,
marking a clear investment in the club’s development pathway.
Lentjies, who brings considerable PSL experience, will be assisted by
Thabo Mngomeni—who returns to the club in a technical capacity. The moves
are part of a structured effort to strengthen the bridge between AmaZulu’s
academy and the senior side.
In a further step to enhance youth structures, the club has also
reappointed former scout Ayanda Mkhize, tasked with reinforcing talent
identification and recruitment at grassroots and development levels.
These appointments reflect AmaZulu’s broader strategic restructuring,
aimed at building long-term sustainability through a cohesive and
productive development pipeline, aligned with the philosophy of the first
team.
