Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has reiterated his strong trust in
defender Khulumani Ndamane, commending the TS Galaxy player for his
consistent and reliable performances for the national team.
Ndamane, who is reportedly a transfer target for Mamelodi Sundowns,
delivered another composed display in South Africa’s recent friendly against
Ghana, further solidifying his standing.
Speaking after the match, Broos left no doubt about his satisfaction with
the former Kaizer Chiefs youth product, regardless of his role.
“It’s already a fantastic thing for him that he went with Bafana Bafana to
AFCON,” Broos stated. “Every game he has played, I was satisfied—also today,
and in the previous games. So I’m very happy with him.”
The Belgian coach highlighted Ndamane’s value in providing crucial squad
depth, offering peace of mind for rotation or unexpected changes in defence.
“I know that if something happens and I need him, I can always count on him.
He proved again today that he deserves to be with us,” Broos said.
He also drew a parallel to Bafana Bafana’s successes from two years ago,
emphasizing the importance of impactful squad players. “We won games then
because there were guys on the bench who came in and decided the game. So
I’m very happy with him. Whether he’s playing or on the bench, I always know
I can count on him.”
