Khanye Hails Mofokeng’s Maturity Amid Peers’ Overseas Moves, Foresees “Bigger” Future

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has singled out Orlando
Pirates starlet Relebohile Mofokeng for his exceptional character and focus,
despite witnessing several of his former development teammates secure
high-profile transfers abroad.

In an exclusive interview, Khanye praised the recent overseas move of talent
Mbekezeli Mbokazi, describing him as “one of the top talents we have had in
this country in a long time,” with the potential to reach Spain if he
remains humble.

However, Khanye reserved his highest commendation for Mofokeng’s resilience.
“I would really like to commend Relebohile Mofokeng for the player and the
person he is,” Khanye stated. “Despite everything that has happened around
him… he has managed to stay focused and continue improving his game.”

He acknowledged the psychological challenge for the young attacker, seeing
peers like Mohau Nkota and now Mbokazi move on while he remains with
Pirates. “It can’t be easy… but Rele is still doing well. That tells you a
lot about the boy’s strong heart.”

Khanye pointed to Mofokeng’s tangible successes as proof of his dedication,
including winning the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season award and
scoring the winner in the Carling Knockout final. “That alone tells you
about his commitment, humility, dedication and discipline,” he added.

Ultimately, Khanye believes the delayed overseas move might benefit
Mofokeng, suggesting an even greater destiny awaits. “For me, this delay
could be a blessing in disguise for Rele… I wouldn’t be surprised if one
day we see him in Spain, at a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid.”
