Zimbabwe’s Soccer Star of the Year, Washington Navaya, is actively
pursuing a move to South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL), with his
representatives working to secure a deal in the coming weeks.
Navaya, who claimed both the 2025 Soccer Star of the Year award and the
Golden Boot in Zimbabwe after netting 17 goals last season, has attracted
serious interest from several PSL clubs. A source close to the player
confirmed efforts are underway to bring him to South Africa, stating, “We
are working very hard in bringing Washington Navaya to South Africa. There’s
a lot of interest in the player from several clubs, including the PSL
giants.”
The striker previously underwent a trial with Durban City in July, where he
left a positive impression. Although a transfer did not follow at the time,
interest has since grown, with other prominent clubs now monitoring his
situation closely.
Navaya is reportedly eager to make the move across the border, and with his
camp driving negotiations, the next few weeks could be decisive in
determining whether the prolific forward secures his PSL breakthrough.
