Kaizer Chiefs vice-captain Zitha Kwinika has stated that his team has no
issue with being labelled as underdogs ahead of their crucial CAF
Confederation Cup match against Zamalek SC.
Kwinika emphasized the importance of winning at home, noting that collecting
all three points in their own stadium is vital for their campaign. He also
believes the team is better prepared after learning from the first leg.
“We saw how they play last week, including their delaying tactics,” Kwinika
observed. “We learned from that, and we are ready for the coming one.”
When asked about the underdog label, Kwinika acknowledged Zamalek’s stature
but insisted his team is ready for the challenge.
“We can take that [label], but at the end of the day, we are also Chiefs, a
big team just like Zamalek,” he said. “We’ll give them the respect they
deserve, but we are up for it and we are definitely going to give this one
our all.”
The defender highlighted the critical role of the home crowd, urging
supporters to fill the stadium and provide a significant boost.
“We need them the most… it will give us a big boost,” Kwinika concluded.
“We are confident, we know what we have to do. It’s just about us executing
and pushing forward, and that will play a role in us scoring.”
