In a bid to resurrect his professional career, former Cape Town City
attacker and Bafana Bafana international Ayanda Patosi is set to take an
unconventional path, with a proposed move to ABC Motsepe League side FC
Hope.
After a period away from the game, the 32-year-old has been working with
prominent agent Mike Makaab to secure a return to football. Unable to
immediately find a club in the top professional divisions, Patosi is now
close to securing a six-month deal with the third-tier club.
This short-term contract is designed to provide Patosi with a platform to
regain match fitness and demonstrate that he still possesses the quality to
compete at a higher level. Despite his age, Patosi—who boasts valuable
experience from playing abroad and for the national team—is believed to be
in good physical condition and remains confident he can still perform in the
Motsepe Foundation Championship or DStv Premiership.
According to sources, Patosi remains under Makaab’s representation, with the
pair collaboratively strategizing a pathway for the player’s return to the
professional ranks. This move to FC Hope represents a humble first step in
that ambitious comeback plan.
