Radiopane’s Agent Provides Update on Pirates Future After Injury

=An update has been provided on the future of Orlando Pirates striker
Boitumelo Radiopane, whose first-team involvement has been limited since his
last appearance in August.

The 23-year-old, who showed promise in the DStv Diski Challenge, has
struggled to secure a consistent place in the Buccaneers’ senior squad
despite loan spells at Cape Town Spurs. This season, he has managed one
assist in four appearances.

According to his agent, Mike Makaab, a lack of recent playing time has been
partly due to an injury setback. “Unfortunately, he picked up a slight
injury, and he went into a rehab program. He is back in full training, and
now he has to fight for a place,” Makaab revealed to PSLSA.

While a January move has not been ruled out, Makaab indicated that
discussions with the club would be necessary if the situation doesn’t
change. “With all of our clients, if we feel that they are not getting the
requisite game time, we will always approach the club… it’s also in the
benefit of the club for the player to get game time, particularly younger
players.”

The agent also suggested that Pirates’ early exit from the CAF Champions
League may have reduced opportunities for squad rotation, impacting players
like Radiopane. A final decision on a potential loan move is expected to be
made in January, coinciding with the Africa Cup of Nations break.

“We will have to wait until… January, we will have a look at our clients
who have not had game time and look if the clubs are looking to do any sort
of loan deals,” Makaab concluded.
