Diski Challenge Round-Up: Sundowns Top Table as Chiefs and Pirates Stumble

The latest round of the Diski Challenge saw a shift at the top of the
table as Mamelodi Sundowns claimed a thrilling victory, while Soweto
giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates both dropped points.

Sundowns Edge Galaxy in Five-Goal Thriller to Go Top

Mamelodi Sundowns ascended to the summit of the table with a hard-fought
3-2 win over TS Galaxy. The Brazilians’ victory was powered by goals from
Bennet Mokoena, Siyabonga Mabena, and Kabelo Sibande. Despite goals from
Nguessan Corneille and Taye Marks for the Rockets, Sundowns secured the
crucial three points.

Struggles Continue for Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs’ winless run was extended to six matches after a 1-1 draw
with Magesi FC. Under the guidance of Dillon Sheppard in the absence of
Vela Khumalo, Chiefs took the lead just before halftime through Leshate
Morwasi. However, their hopes for a much-needed win were dashed when
Koketso Makgai equalized for Magesi in the 59th minute.

Orlando Pirates Suffer First Defeat of the Season

Orlando Pirates experienced their first loss of the campaign, falling 2-1
to Polokwane City. Despite dominating early play, the Buccaneers conceded
a long-range effort against the run of play from Monty Bahlabane. Siphiwe
Msilela brought Pirates level with a free-kick in the 68th minute, but a
late, well-taken set-piece from Khololwethu Simoki secured all three
points for Polokwane City in the closing minutes.
