Sunday’s Showdowns
The headline act saw Casric Stars reclaim the summit in a thrilling 3-2
victory over Hungry Lions. The win propels Stars back to first place, while
the Lions remain in 11th.
Elsewhere, Lerumo Lions roared to a 2-1 away win against Gomora United,
climbing to 12th position and handing Gomora their third defeat of the
season.
University of Pretoria finally broke their duck, securing a commanding 2-0
first win of the campaign against Baroka FC thanks to goals from Luke
Daniels and Sibongakonke Mgwaba.
Saturday’s Six-Goal Thrillers and Maiden Wins
Saturday was defined by late drama and statement victories. Cape Town City
snatched their first win of the season in stoppage time, defeating Midlands
Wanderers 3-2. A brace from Jaedin Rhodes was nearly undone by a Wanderers
comeback, but debutant Therlo Moosa emerged as the hero with a last-gasp
winner.
Black Leopards also celebrated their maiden victory in style, with Bethuel
Muzeu’s hat-trick powering them to a convincing 3-0 win over Kruger United.
The match between Upington City and Milford FC was a six-goal spectacle,
ending 3-3. The result saw Milford drop to second in the table, while
Upington held firm in sixth.
In other results, The Bees and Venda FC played out a goalless draw.
Friday’s Opener
The weekend action kicked off on Friday with Leicesterfield City handing
Highbury FC their first loss of the season. After going a goal down, City
fought back to win 2-1 with goals from Dan Ndhlovu and Phathutshedzo Nange.
