Sekhukhune United Set to Promote Teenage Goalkeeping Prospect

Sekhukhune United appears poised to elevate another young talent, with
18-year-old goalkeeper Tshepo Mahauza in line to begin training with the
first team.

This potential promotion comes after the club, under coach Eric Tinkler,
already integrated young shot-stopper Kgoleng Ratisani into the senior squad
earlier this season. According to a source, the move for Mahauza is imminent
following his impressive performances for the club’s DDC team.

“He is the first goalkeeper this season to win the player of the match this
season. He has been doing very well and they have invited him to train with
the first team,” a source revealed. “They have only three senior goalkeepers
and they want him to be the fourth one.”

Mahauza, who was previously on the verge of joining Magesi FC, has attracted
interest from several Motsepe Foundation Championship sides. His agent,
Tebogo Moloi of TM Scouts, confirmed the enquiries but emphasized his
client’s commitment to Sekhukhune.

“Yes, there are teams in the NFD who have enquired about him, but he is a
Sekhukhune United player and they should contact Sekhukhune if they want
him,” Moloi stated.

The club itself did not respond to a request for comment by the time of
publication.
