identifies the five key Zimbabwean players who could derail South Africa’s
qualification hopes at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
1. Marshall Munetsi
The midfielder has flourished in a more attacking role at English Premier
League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. This advanced position has seen him
become a greater goal threat, unleashing powerful shots from distance.

2. Tawanda Chirewa
Though still breaking through at Wolves, the 21-year-old is a proven danger

3. Khama Billiat
The return of the legendary Billiat from retirement adds a major X-factor to
the Zimbabwean attack. While he may be in the latter stages of his career,
his quality is undeniable. The former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns
star possesses the intelligent movement and technical skill to unlock the
sturdiest of defences.
4. Washington Arubi
Zimbabwe’s last line of defence is in inspired form. The 40-year-old
goalkeeper arrives with confidence sky-high after recently leading his club,
Marumo Gallants, to a Carling Knockout victory over Mamelodi Sundowns. His
exceptional shot-stopping ability makes him a potential match-winner on his
own.
5. Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya
The AmaZulu striker is enjoying a breakout debut season in the PSL, netting
four goals in nine matches. This rich vein of form makes him a strong
candidate to start. Bafana will need to be vigilant of his clever movement
in the box, as demonstrated by his recent goal against Kaizer Chiefs, and
his aerial strength.
