Kaizer Chiefs’ Young Guns Earn Premier League Test with UK Tour

In a fitting reward for their record-breaking season, the Kaizer Chiefs
DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) champions are set for a landmark UK tour this
November, where they will test themselves against the academy sides of
English giants like Manchester United.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) and MultiChoice have confirmed the 11-day
tour, scheduled from 25 November to 7 December 2025. The Amakhosi youngsters
will face the U21 teams of Manchester United, Leeds United, and Queens Park
Rangers (QPR).

This prestigious trip is a direct reward for Chiefs’ dominant 2024/25 DDC
campaign, where they clinched their first-ever reserve league title and set
a new competition record with 70 points.

Tour Itinerary: A Football Immersion
The tour is designed to provide a holistic footballing experience, blending
high-level competition with elite academy exposure:

  • Fixtures: The squad will face Manchester United on Friday, 28
November, Leeds United on Tuesday, 2 December, and QPR U21 in London on
    Saturday, 6 December.
  • Academy Exchanges: Beyond the matches, the team will participate in
knowledge-sharing programmes with the renowned academies of both
    Manchester United and Liverpool.
  • Premier League Experience: The tour also includes attending the
high-stakes Leeds United vs. Chelsea Premier League match and a visit to
the Premier League’s headquarters in London.

The PSL commended the Chiefs youth side for their “grit and determination,”
highlighting their ability to maintain form even when key players were on
national duty.

For MultiChoice, the initiative underscores a deep commitment to grassroots
development. “As the DStv Diski Challenge continues to grow, it stands as a
beacon of hope for aspiring footballers – giving them a platform to showcase
their talent both nationally and on the global stage,” the company stated.

This tour represents a significant milestone for Kaizer Chiefs and a
valuable opportunity for South Africa’s most promising young talents to
measure their skills against world-class opposition, further solidifying the
DDC’s role as a crucial gateway to professional football.
